Talvez o prejuízo material àquela pessoa seja realmente pequeno ou insignificante, mas há um prejuízo inestimável que tu podes causar a ela e a ti: o prejuizo moral. Tal pessoa pode cair em descrédito, ser acusada de roubo ou no mínimo ser taxada de incompetente. Já vi casos em que pessoas foram demitidas por isso e tiveram sua vida arruinada por um equívoco delas e a desonestidade de outrem. E tu, ciente disto, com qual consciência ficarias? Ao homem vil que se apropria do que não é seu, até o que não possui lhe será tirado. Mas ao homem bom e honesto, muitas glórias lhes são reservadas. Por isso, não te aproprie do que te foi entregue por engano. Devolva o troco que foi passado errado, o prêmio que te foi entregue incorretamente, e até mesmo as honras que te ofereceram equivocadamente. Queira para ti somente o que tu mereces e que é teu.
